Brendan Gets Blindsided

April 16th, 2009

Goodbye Brendan

We watch this Realty TV show Survivor Tocantins and find that at tribal council, Brendan gets blind-sided and voted off.  He was so over confident, that he never played his hidden immunity idol.

Brendan said that at the merge, he knew he would have a big target on his back.  He also said it feels good to be blind-sided, as that is part of the game for which he tried to do against Coach.  He knows Sierra will be next to go, and wishes her good luck.

We won’t miss this 30 year old Entrepreneur because he now becomes the first member of the Jury.  Brendan will be back on the show at each and every tribal council, including the final vote for who gets the one million dollars!

8th Episode Survivor Tocantins

Survivor Tocantins 8th Episode

The Realty TV Show Survivor Tocantins started out with the first day with both tribes receiving tree mail, informing them of a reward feast.  The speculation arises on both sides of whether or not this is the merge celebration.  Or, if it is a challenge, then they have to win as they are all starving.

Upon arrival, a table is found with an enormous amount of food and drink.  A note to the tribes informs them of the merge, and new buffs are passed out.  They are also informed that they must also come up with a new tribe name.

JT is worried that they are out numbered by 6 to 4, and also that their team member Joe has had an injured leg.  JT is hoping to find some power struggles going on, and can maybe exploit this to his advantage.

At camp, Coach bonded with JT.  JT then started talking strategy as they both privately fished for supper.  Coach wanted to keep his conversation secret and JT agreed to do so.

In a night time conversation, Coach wants to get rid of Brendan.  They think Brendan is the head of the dragon and must be cut off.  We also find a new alliance forming with Tyson, Coach, JT, Stephen, and Debbie.  The plan is to eliminate the weaker team members first, being Brendan and/or Sierra.

The Challenge was for individual immunity.  Each tribe member must hold on to a pole for as long as they can.  When they fall off the pole, they are out of the challenge.  Tyson wins this as the winner of the first individual immunity.  Tyson is now safe at tribal council.

Jeff sees that Joe’s leg looks bad, and has asked that he stay behind in order for medical to exam it.  Dr. Lucy McKinnon then arrives and examines Joe’s leg.  Joe’s infection was bad.  The doctor said if he stays in the game, he could lose his leg, or lose his life.

Jeff later walks into camp without Joe.  He informs the new tribe, which is now calling themselves “Forza” that Joe will not be returning to the game.  Jeff goes on to inform the castaways that because of Joe leaving, there will be no tribal council and that there will be nobody leaving tonight.

Joe departs by helicopter and says that he does not want to die, and that he would rather be able to walk home.  He feels that this sucks, but, he has made the right decision.  After all, a realty TV show with a million dollar prize is still not enough for somebody to risk their life for! So tonights episode ended up being very sad, especially for Joe.

Joes Leaves the Show

April 9th, 2009

Goodbye Joe

The 26 year old from Austin, Texas, was nursing a badly swollen leg.  He believes something bit him, and it now has become infected.  However, Joe wanted to continue with the game.  He even played in the immunity challenge.

After the challenge was over, Jeff could not but notice how badly Joe’s leg looked.  Jeff sent all of the the castaways home to camp, but asked that Joe stay behind while medical examined his leg.

The doctor gave Joe the bad news!  He was at risk for loss of leg, and/or even loss of life.  Joe felt no game was worth these risks, and gladly allowed them to helicopter hmself to a hospital for immediate medical attention.  Thus, Joe is now elminated from the game.  We will miss Joe, and are very sorry for his bad luck.

7th Episode Survivor Tocantins

April 2nd, 2009

Survivor Tocantins 7th Episode

In tonight’s Realty TV Show, Survivor Tocantins, we find Sydney from the Jalapao Tribe being worried that if they loose again, she will be voted off before Taj.  She feels Taj and her are on the chopping block.

For the challenge, each tribe will have 5 minutes to build a barricade inside the other tribes frame.  Then they will attempt to toss ceramic pigs through the barricade of what the other tribe has built for them.  If they drop or break a pig, it doesn’t count.  The tribe with the most pigs on their bench at the end of 10 minutes wins reward.  The winning tribe will be taken to a beautiful waterfall where they will enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a barbeque.  In addition, the winning tribe picks one member from the loosing tribe to go to Exile Island and that person will pick somebody from the winning tribe to join them.

Timbira wins the reward, with 14 pigs to Jalapao’s 13 pigs.  They picked Joe to go to Exile Island.  Joe picked Erinn to go with him for strategy reasons, because going into a merge, they needed somebody to flip.

At the reward, the Timbira Tribe (minus Erinn) found watermelon, chips, cooler of drinks, and hamburgers on the grill with all the fixings on the side.  All the tribe members stuffed themselves, and then soaked for awhile in crystal clear water while watching the beautiful waterfall.

On Exile Island, Erinn and Joe each picked an urn, and Erinn picked the one with the clue for the immunity idol, which said that the idol could be found back at camp.  Erinn was open to an alliance with Joe as she was currently not in one.  She therefore shared the location of the idol with Joe.  Now, back at the camp, Taj knows Joe will have all the clues and doesn’t want him to think she has it, so Taj decides to make a fake idol and plant it where the clues said to look for it.

JT then finds the real idol in Taj’s bag.  So it ended up with Taj, JT, and Stephen forming an alliance to the end, with a vow to share the immunity idol.

Immunity Challenge:  Each tribe uses a sling shot in an attempt to break a tile that will release sand from a tower.  The empty tower of sand will then cause the next tile to be revealed and releases a bag of puzzle pieces.  Collect all 3 bags, and 2 tribe members will use these pieces to solve the puzzle.  First tribe to get the puzzle right wins immunity and a one-in-ten shot of winning the million bucks.  Losers go to Tribal Council where someone will be voted out.

JT remained on the sling shot during the whole event, and didn’t want his tribe members to replace him.  But he failed to win all 3 bags first, and eventually Timbira Tribe wins immunity.

At Tribal Council Sydney gets voted off because Taj had previously formed a strong alliance (unknown to Sydney).  In her departing words, Sydney was happy to be part of this realty TV show Survivor Tocantins, and said that her tribe is now in big trouble if there is a merge because they are down in numbers.

In watching the coming attractions for next week’s show, the merge goes through, making it 6 to 4.  This will be where the game becomes very interesting, as these alliances will be tested.  With JT being such a strong competitor and being part of the smaller 4-man tribe, he will have a huge target on his back for the old Timbira Tribe to pick him off.  Also, the Coach is still running things at Timbira, so he has now become an extremely powerful player.  It will be up to the old Jalapao Tribe to convince everyone to vote the Coach out now before it is too late.  But the monkey wrench in this mix is the fact that there are now 3 immunity idols out, with 1 of them being a fake.  This should prove to be an interesting show next week.

Survivor Tocantins First Fifteen Days

March 25th, 2009

A Survivor Tocantins Recap Show

CBS skipped this week for a new Realty TV Show of Survivor Tocantins, and instead showed a recap of the first fifteen days.  Also, it was shown very rare and interesting footage of the castaways doing their “thing”.

More was shown and said about how badly the cast was getting bug bites all over there bodies, and possible scares for life.  There were scenes shown of the terrible things the tribe members had to eat, “off of the land”, in order to get their dosage of protein.

Strategies were further explored by the castaways, and it was revealed how the current alliances came to be after many secret conversations.  Even the Coach revealed his strategy, but it has been very obvious from day one that he has had his game hat on.

It is still to early in the series to tell what alliance will end up on top.  It will all come down to the eventual merge where one tribe and one alliance will attempt to dominate the game.  But even that can change as we have seen in the past, so we will stay tuned in for the next new episode of this realty TV show Survivor Tocantins on April 2, 2009.

No Survivor Tocantins Show This Week

CBS Suvivor Tocantins Show Is Preempted By Basketball This Week

We are all sad to see that CBS is NOT showing the next Realty TV Show of Survivor Tocantins this week.  Instead, CBS is showing the Basketball Tournaments this week.

We hate to think our castways are still stranded out there in Tocantins, but then hey, this show has been filmed previously and all the cast is home right now awaiting the final episode to reveal who wins the one million dollars.  Yet being television, we sometimes forget that this Realty TV is not live.  But the bottom line is that we still miss our show this week!

While Survivor is not playing on TV this week, we at least were able to catch a new episode of the Amazing Race 14 on CBS last Sunday evening.

5th Episode Survivor Tocantins

March 12th, 2009

Survivor Tocantins,  5th Episode

The realty TV show Survivor Tocantins starts out this week at the Jalapao Tribe, day 13, and finding Taj saying she put Joe’s name down on the paper because she really didn’t want to put Sandy down.  Taj then went and found the immunity idol.  She handed it off to Stephen for safe keeping, as Taj thought she would be the one her tribe suspects as having it because of her many trips to Exile island.

Timbira, day 13, finding Sierra talking to Brendan about their alliance with Taj and Stephen from the Jalapao Tribe.  She told Brendan that we rule!  “We are going to take over the world.”

Challenge:  Played in rounds, with one tribe member seated on a round platform, another tribe member will then race, pulling a rope attached to that platform, causing the tribe member to get dizzy.  The dizzy castaway then must make their way across a balancing beam to the finish line.  Each time they win a round, they score a point.  The first tribe that has  3 points wins reward.  The reward is being sent to the Charmin Cafe, enjoying some nice strong coffee, pastries, use of a modern toilet and lots of Charmin.  In addition, the winning tribe will choose a member from the loosing tribe to go to Exile island, and that castaway will select someone from the winning tribe to join them.  This means that one person from the winning tribe will not enjoy the Charmin Café.

Jalapao wins the reward.  The tribe chooses Brendan to go to Exile island.  Brendan chooses his alliance member, Stephen from the Timbira tribe, to join him.  They then are able to tighten up their secret alliance.

At the reward the Jalapao members, minus Stephen, live it up with all kinds of pastries, coffee, and juices to drink.  They all then received letters from home, and showed many tears of joy as they read their letters.

In Timbira, day 13, the tribe members are upset about not winning.  Also, Coach is suspect about Brendan making friends with the Jalapao members on his stays at Exile island.  Then the wind picks up and a big rain storm hits the camp.

Challenge:  Two members from each tribe alternate launching balls out onto the course where the remaining castaways will catch the ball in their individual nets.  They can catch a ball from either tribe, which will score a point for their tribe.  The first tribe to get 5 catches will win immunity.  The loosing tribe goes to tribal council where somebody will be voted out of this game.

Timberia Tribe wins the immunity.  JT put in an amazing effort, and almost won it for Jalapoa.  He even lost a tooth while playing.

At Jalapao Tribe, day 15, the members are frustrated over the brutal challenge and having to loose it.  Taj thought Spencer was weak in the challenge.

At tribal council, the fifth person voted out of this realty tv Survivor Tocantins was Spencer, the 19 year old from Lakeland, Florida.   He also decided during the game to never reveal to his fellow tribe members that he was gay.

Fifth Castawy Voted Out

March 12th, 2009

Spencer Gets The Boot

At tribal council, the fifth person voted out of this realty tv Survivor Tocantins was Spencer, the 19 year old from Lakeland, Florida.   He also decided during the game to never reveal to his fellow tribe members that he was gay.

In Spencer’s last words, “I lasted 15 days but definitely could have lasted a lot longer.  I definitely made friends out there and hopefully they feel the same way.”

Spencer went on to say it is just frustrating that they feel like I wasn’t useful enough in Challenges.  It was just a really bad Challenge for me today and I feel like as far as my attitude . . . I’ll work on that.

4th Episdoe Survivor Tocantins

March 5th, 2009

Survivor Tocantins 4th Episode

The beginning of the fourth episode of the realty TV show Survivor Tocantins finds us with 13 castaways left, and wondering who will be voted out tonight.

At Timbira, the Coach was pissed because Erinn did not see him as a tribe leader.  Coach said if Jerry hadn’t been sick and voted off, Erinn would have been voted off instead.  But then Coach tells everyone that Tyson should be the tribe leader, playing out his secret strategy.

Over in Jalapao, Taj wants to speak to Stephen about her secret alliance, which is Brendan and Sierra over at the Timbira Tribe.  Stephen told Taj that he’s in.

The Challenge was for 3 people to balance weights on a pole sitting on their shoulders, with 2 guys and 1 gal from each tribe.  Two castaways would decide who to put weight on the opposite tribe.  The winning tribe gets to send 2 castaways to the other tribe’s camp and take 2 items of their choice.  Also, the winner picks a member from the opposite tribe to go to Exile Island.

The competition was hard, but got down to the two women, Taj and Debra.  The strategy was to eliminate the men first, which worked out great for both sides.  After adding more weight to Debra, which brought the total pounds to 100, she let go.  Jalapao then won the reward, and made it straight 4 wins in a row for the happy tribe members.  They sent Sierra to Exile Island, who picked Taj.  But the plan made up by Taj and Brendan was for Sierra to pick Stephen, but we hear that Brendan never had a chance to be alone with Sierra to clue her in.

Back a Jalapao, Tyson felt weird seeing 2 opposite tribe members visiting his camp, and thieving 2 of their items.  But the guys went easy on them by only taking one bag of beans and leaving them with another.  The second item was a water container, which they had more of.  The boys thought that if the tribes were to be reconfigured, they wouldn’t want to be on Timbira with no food (sweet justice).

In Jalapao, Sandy was getting on Sydney’s nerves.  She said Sandy repeats everything 3 times and castaways are getting sick of her.  But then Sandy says in her one-on-one interview with the camera that Sydney needs to go because she is working her charm on all the boys, including sleeping without a bra on at night and rubbing up against them.

Out on Exile Island Taj receives her final clue for the hidden immunity idol, and said she now knows exactly where to find it.  Taj also finds out that Brendan never spoke to Sierra about her hidden alliance.  So Taj informs Sierra, who said she was in and was feeling very good about her new alliance that now crosses over 2 tribes and controls 2 hidden idols.

The next Tribal Challenge finds the tribe members running through a course to pick up puzzle pieces and bring them back to the start line.  Once all pieces were brought back, they could began to solve it.  The viewers were shown the answer, “Escape the vote (Jalapoa/Timbira) wins immunity.  It was close, but Timbira broke their loosing streak and won immunity.

Discussions at Jalapoa Tribe were whether to vote off Sandy or Sydney.  But at tribal council, Sandy was surprised that she was the one voted off.  Now both tribes are now even, six castaways against six cataways.
